Dutchess County Guest Home
milan, ny
This upstate weekend guest house was constructed for five children of a New York City developer. The five bedroom, three bath house sits up a shallow hill overlooking a small creek and the main house. A central feature is the double height cantilevered porch wing, that reaches out into the set of thin, narrow trees that mark the site. Other elements that act to connect with the beautiful surroundings include grey cedar siding, large scale windows, wrap around porches and deep set eaves.
